Dynasty Warriors 7 Tops the Charts

PS3 title debuts with quarter million sales.

Dynasty Warriors 7 makes its expected debut at the top of the Media Create charts.

Dynasty Warriors 7 topped Media Create's weekly sales charts this week with over a quarter million in sales. In hardware, 3DS sold nearly 100,000 units in its third week, down from the 200,000 of last week, but still enough for first place.

Unlike its predecessors, Dynasty Warriors 7 is PS3 exclusive in Japan. It outsold the PS3 version of Dynasty Warriors 6, which sold 186,000 units in its first week back in November 2007.

Other newcomers this week included Rurouni Kenshin and Fairy Tail Portable Guild 2. Both PSP titles made it into the top 10.

3DS hardware pushed 96,463 units this week. Relative software sales remained mostly unchanged, with Professor Layton at top, followed by Nintendogs + Cats and Samurai Warriors Chronicles. The one new 3DS game for the week, Asphalt 3D Racing from Konami, failed to make it into the top 10.
