First Atelier Meruru Screens

Gust finally provides a look at the PS3 sequel and its younger Rorona.

After weeks of teaser updates through Dengeki PlayStation, Gust has at long last provided a true look at Atelier Meruru. Below, you'll find first screens and art for the PS3 sequel.

The main character's name, incidentally, is indeed Meruru -- not Meryl. The game's full name is "Atelier Meruru: Alchemist of Arland 3."

We detailed the basics in previous updates (see our story archive for more).

The screenshots provide a look at one new gameplay system: land development. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to make the world change. Meruru can create items to help develop the kingdom, and there will be some changes that occur as part of the story. You can see an example in this screen:

The left shot shows the scene during the game's prologue. The right shot shows a large castle in the same area. Details on how the development system works have yet to be revealed.

Visit Gpara for even more screens, along with a look at the game's bonus goodies.
