Tokyo Game Show Being Held as Scheduled
Show organizers planning charity auction at this year's big gaming event.
Tokyo Game Show organizer CESA has confirmed that this year's installment of the annual game show will take place as scheduled, from September 15 through September 18 at the Makuhari Messe just outside of Tokyo.
Following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in the Tohoku region, there was apparently some concern that this year's show would be affected. CESA says that while there was some damage to the convention center, repair work is already under way. There was also some concern that rolling power outages would cause problems, but CESA does not believe this will be the case.
There will be one earthquake-related change to the show plan. CESA will be holding charity auctions and other fund raising initiatives to aid in relief efforts. Details will be announced later.
As previously detailed, the official English language catch phrase for this year's TGS is "Game -- Dancing Your Heart." Access the TGS 2011 official site here.
