First Professor Layton Crosses One Million
Curious Village takes over four years, but finally goes platinum. Level-5 working on sixth entry in series.
Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed via Twitter today that Professor Layton and the Curious Village has topped the million mark in Japanese retail orders.
For those who've lost track, that's the very first Layton game. Released on February 15, 2007, it took four years and two months, but the game finally went platinum.
Since Curious Village, Level-5 has released... checks database ... approximately four hundred Professor Layton games. The most recent entry in the series is for the 3DS and is the system's top selling game with around a quarter million units sold.
The total worldwide shipment igure for the series has topped 11 million, Hino also revealed. He also confirmed that Level-5 is working on the sixth entry in the series, although he did not share the platform.
