3DS took the top hardware spot in a week full of new releases, but PSP was the dominant software driver, with the top selling game and nine games in the top 20.

Hardware saw slowdowns overall for the week as the PSP fell from last week's 35,000 to 24,000 this week. Even the 3DS, although in top, saw a drop off from last week.

The latest Super Robot Taisen game debuts in first place.

In software, PSP's 2nd Super Robot Wars Z debuted with 307,019, units, besting the delayed PS3 version of Pro Baseball Spirits 2011. The PSP and 3DS versions of Pro Baseball Spirits, released simultaneously with the PS3 version, also made it into the top 10.

Other newcomers in the top ten included the PSP remake of Persona 2, Nintendo's second first party 3DS title Pilotwings, and the PS3 version of Homefront, which was localized for Japan by Spike. The 360 version made it in at 14.
