Phantasy Star Eternal Hunters Goes Live on Mobage

Free-to-play RPG take on Phantasy Star Online links up with Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity.

That mobile version of Phantasy Star Sega announced a few months back made it out onto DeNA's Mobage social gaming service today. Mobage members with Flash Lite 1.1 compatible doCoMo, au or SoftBank sets can play Phantasy Star Eternal Hunters for free now.

This latest take on the classic Sega franchise is described as an RPG that's linked up with the Earth. Players assume the role of a hunter in the Phantasy Star world. Your mission is to investigate a ship that crash landed on an unknown planet by taking on top secret missions that have you collect reports in various areas of the game world.

The game uses your real world position to give you different monsters depending on where you play. As you defeat these monsters, you'll collect the needed reports.

To commemorate the release, Sega is readying a tie-up item for PSP's Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. To get the item, you'll need to defeat monsters that appear in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo. Do this, and you'll get a download code which can be input into PlayStation Store to obtain the item for the PSP game.
