Nintendo Staff to Distribute Celebrity Miis to 3DS Owners
Visit a train station in your area over Golden Week, and you could get a special Mii.
The 29th marks the official start of Golden Week, a week long vacation period. Most people will get some much anticipated time off. But not Nintendo's staff.
Nintendo will be sending its staff members around town over Golden Week to distribute celebrity Miis to 3DS owners. This is part of a promotional campaign that Nintendo detailed today.
Nintendo has teamed up with talent management house Yoshimoto for this promotion. Celebrities affiliated with Yoshimoto will be converted to Mii form (shown above) and stored away in the 3DS units of Nintendo staff members. The staffers will travel around town over Golden Week, and if you happen to run into them, you'll find yourself with a celebrity Mii.
While the Yoshimoto celebrities will be familiar to anyone, Nintendo's staff will probably look like your ordinary Joe Taro (I'm assuming Miyamoto isn't being sent out on Mii distribution duty). In fact, Nintendo says that its staff won't be wearing anything indicating that they are part of the promotion, nor will they be standing in a special area set aside for Street Pass transfers.
You won't have to rely on pure luck to get one of the Miis, though, as Nintendo has provided a list of stations where the staff will be loitering about. Visit the stations listed at the promotion page between 7:30 and 21:00 from today through May 8, and you'll have a good chance of getting one of the Miis.
Of course, the stations can be pretty big, so you may have to walk around a bit before getting your Mii.
