Pokemon, PSP Top the Charts

Nintendo's Pokemon typing tutor with Bluetooth keyboard leads in software as PSP surges back into the top hardware spot.

Pikachu and friends are back atop the Media Create sales charts. And this time, they've brought with them some high tech equipment.

Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS was the top selling game for the week covering April 18 through April 24. The DS typing tutor is bundled with a compact Bluetooth keyboard, which can of course be used as just a standard keyboard for other devices.

Last week's top sellers remained in the top five, but the lower top ten was mostly newcomers. The latest Conan game adaptation, Gachitora, SOCOM 4 and cutesy shooter Otomedeus X all made it in.

Debuting outside of the top ten were the Forward .1 pack for Monster Hunter Frontier at 12 (current owners can upgrade for free), Original Story rom Fairy Tail, a DS adaptation of the manga, and the PS3 version of the Clannad visual novel.

Here's the full software chart for 4/18 through 4/24. Publisher, release date, and last week's sales are in parentheses.

PSP reclaimed the top hardware spot from the 3DS this week. The PSP's fluctuations can be explained by supply problems. The system still appears to sell out quickly when new stock arrives, a situation that could get worse as Golden Week approaches.

Here's the full hardware chart. Last week's sales are in parentheses.
