Sengoku Basara Goes Social on Mobage
Another social gaming conversion for one of Capcom's major properties.
Capcom is taking its popular Sengoku Basara series social on DeNA's mobile social gaming platform Mobage. The publisher announced yesterday that it is developing Sengoku Basara Mobile for release in June 2011.
Sengoku Basara Mobile has players take on the role of a warlord and guide their armies towards reunification of the land. Capcom did not provide details, but said that fans and newcomers will both be able to appreciate the game's simple controls and communication capabilities that comes from cooperative play. As with all Mobage games, the game will be item transaction based.
This new social title is just one of many developments for the Sengoku Basara series, which began in 2005 as a PlayStation 2 title. PSP will see Sengoku Basara Chronicle Heroes on July 2011. Capcom is also pushing the series through fan events, tours connected to the Warring States period that is depicted in the franchise, and an upcoming animated feature film called Sengoku Basara The Last Party (due to hit theaters on June 4).
