Atlus Opens Noora Official Site

New DS title in development by staff behind Etrian Odyssey and Atelier.

Atlus has opened an official site for Noora to Toki no Koubou, the new DS title from the makers of the Atelier and Etrian Odyssey series. Visit the site for screens, art, cheerful music and spelling errors.

The site has a few additional story details, some differing a bit from our original report. (For that report, see this article.).

Noora to Toki no Koubou is set in the small town of Temperina. The people of this town tell the legend of Vera, the "misty forest witch," who lives on an island in a lake.

Main character Noora has arrived in the misty forest, thinking that she'd spend three years in a different country perfecting her time manipulation trade. Her fellow craftsmen have a rule: they must not tell others of their ability.

Problems begin for Noora when she's mistaken for Vera. She decides to clear suspicions by helping the townfolk and deepening her ties with them.

While Famitsu introduced a handful of characters, including Lutz and Keke the official site has a look at just Noora herself. Fully Noora Brandor, the main character is a 16-year-old with a positive, energetic outlook. She's voiced by Ayana Taketatsu.

The game takes place over a three year period, leading to multiple endings. In addition to solving quests for people using Noora's time manipulation abilities, which she uses to create items it seems, you'll also have to travel about the world, fighting monsters and seeking help from a variety of allies. It's unclear at present if this means the game will have some sort of combat system in place.

At the game's development blog, producer Shigeo Komori reveals that development on Noora started back during the development of Etrian Odyssey III. This helps to explain why the release date is so soon. Although Noora was announced last week, it's due for release on July 21.
