Dragon Quest Continues Rein; 3DS Continues Fall

Slow week for sales even as a bunch of new releases hit retail following Golden Week.

Haruhi Suzumiya's latest game adaptation debuted on the PS3 and PSP last week.

Another slow week for game sales in the week following the Golden Week holiday period.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional topped the Media Create software charts once again with 21,000 units. The DS update to Joker 2 has been in first place three weeks running now as it inches towards half a million.

There were plenty of newcomers this week, but none posted particular impressive numbers. Steel Diver, Nintendo's second first party 3DS title, debuted in 3rd place with 17,000 units. The PS3 and PSP versions Reminiscence of Haruhi Suzumiya also made it into the top five. Irem's April Fools Joke turned actual game release Doki Doki Suikoden debuted at 13 with 5,000 units.

Here's the full Media Create chart covering 5/2 to 5/15, as passed along at 4Gamer. Life to date sales are in parentheses. For a more visual look at the chart see our rankings page.

In hardware, 3DS continued to slide, this week selling under 20,000 units. PSP remained in top, but it too saw a huge drop from last week.
