Team ICO Remakes Dated

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus arrive in September, individually and as part of limited edition combo pack.

The PS3 remakes of Team ICO's classics now have dates. But what about Team ICO's original PS3 title The Last Guardian?

Sony Computer Entertainment has set a new final release date of September 22 for the PlayStation 3 remakes of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Each title will sell for ¥3,980.

Unlike most other territories, the remakes of the Team ICO classics are individual releases in the Japanese market. However, Sony will be offering the ICO/Wander to Kyozo Limited Box ("Wander to Kyozo" is the Japanese name for Shadow). This ¥6,980 set includes both titles, a special box, a special 100 page booklet from magazine publisher BRUTUS, and dynamic custom themes for both titles.

First announced at last year's Tokyo Game Show, these remakes of the PlayStation 2 classics, released originally in 2001 and 2005, have been updated to full PlayStation 3 spec, with 1080 HD support, 7.1 channel surround support, Trophy support, and 3D output.

Today's release date announcement was accompanied by new official sites for both games. Access the site for Shadow of the Colossus here and ICO here.

The developer of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, referred to often as "Team ICO" is also working on The Last Guardian for the PlayStation 3. Sony did not provide an update on that game's release today. It was most recently delayed beyond its original 2011 release time frame.
