Disney Interactive Studios served as publisher on Wii's Disney Epic Mickey outside of Japan. For the Japanese market, Mickey has even bigger backing. Nintendo will be handling the game's release itself. That's right, Mickey is first party!
Nintendo has given the game a new name: Disney Epic Mickey: Micky Mouse to Mahou no Fude, or Mickey Mouse and the Magic Brush. The localized version will be released on August 4, priced ¥5,800.
Epic Mickey sold over 2 million units in European and North American markets, Nintendo said in its announcement of the game's Japanese release today.
