How to inspire Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi (and possibly get punched too)
I like Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi's games. As a fan, I hope that he continues to make such great games, and if given the opportunity to help him, I will take it.
Nagoshi recently provided a tip on how to inspire him as a creator. All you have to do is tell him that Japanese games suck.
In his weekly column in Famitsu this week, Nagoshi recalled conducting interviews with members of the overseas press during E3. He was repeatedly given the old line about Japanese games being no good. While he says that he kept his composure and responded to the questions, he was so mad that he wanted to get some Yakuza fist action going.
Although annoyed by the questions, Nagoshi managed to see this particular glass of monkey balls as half full. He feels that this type of anger creates energy for creators.
So next time I see Nagoshi, I'm going to tell him how much Japanese games suck (even though I don't actually think this -- why else would I have made a site about Japanese games?).
