Cave has announced a final release date of July 7 for its latest iPhone/iPod touch shooter, Deathsmiles. The game will carry a commemorative price of $4.99 (US) for its first four days of sales.

The iPhone version of Deathsmiles adds to the arcade version with a new iPhone Mode. In iPhone mode, you play through an original story and take control of Tiara, Princess of Gilverado, who must defeat an evil witch.

iPhone mode also features new character designs from manga illustrator Yukinatsu Mori, and brand new background music from veteran Cave composer Takeshi Miyamoto.

The game is compatible with Game Center and Open Feint leaderboards. You can unlock achievements by overcoming in-game challenges.
