Atelier Meruru Tops the Charts
Latest PS3 Atelier title beats out some high profile newcomers but fails to give PS3 a hardware boost.
In a week packed with new releases, PlayStation 3's Atelier Meruru topped the sales charts. However, like other recent major PS3 releases, the game gave no notable boost to PS3 system hardware.
Meruru, the third PS3 Atelier series game, sold 82,585 units in its first week, outpacing two high profile PSP releases, a port of 5pb.'s Steins;Gate adventure game and Namco Bandai's latest Gundam title, Gundam Memories.
Last week's number one and two remained in the top five. Level-5's Danbol Senki and Nintendo's Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D both crossed the 200,000 mark.
Other notable newcomers in the top 20 included Bleach Soul Ignition, the first PS3 game based off the Bleach license, and Earth Seeker, Crafts & Meister's long awaited original Wii adventure game.
