Hideo Kojima and Suda 51's Sdatcher Will Be Free
Radio drama project not being done for profit, says Kojima.
Hideo Kojima confirmed via Twitter today that Sdatcher, the new radio drama that's based off the classic Snatcher adventure game, will be released for free. It's not something that's being done for profit, he said.
So how is Konami going to pay the voice staff, which includes many cast members of the Metal Gear series, and studio and production fees? These costs will have to be made up somehow, said Kojima. The current plan is to convert the drama into a CD after it is released as a free download.
Production is advancing on the radio drama, whose release date has yet to be announced. Today, Kojima also Tweeted that he was able to hear the drama's music, which is being prepared by Akira Yamaoka.
Kojima's request for the music was that it be both 70s progressive rock and 80s electro pop. While he's personally very satisfied with the result, he admits that he's unsure if it will be well received by a wide audience.
