Dengeki PlayStation has first details this week on a video game adaptation of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime. Namco Bandai will serve as publisher on the PSP game, which goes by the Japanese name of Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica Portable.
Developed jointly by Namco Bandai and Nitro Plus (developers of Steins;Gate and Phantom of Inferno), the PSP adaptation is is said to an "adventure dungeon RPG," with turn-based movement through dungeons, similar to a Rogue-like dungeon crawler. The story will be based off the anime, but will also cover new areas.
Namco Bandai is readying a standard version, priced ¥6,480, and a limited version, priced ¥11,900. The limited version includes a Figma figure, a handkerchief, an illustration collection, and other bonuses.
You're going to have to wait a bit to play the Magi Madoka Magica adaptation, as it's not due for release until March 15, 2012.
