Soccer, Kirby and Cooking Manga Top the Sales Charts

3DS drops to below 5,000 units just ahead of price drop.

Toriko Gourmet Survival is based off a cooking themed manga.

The weekly software sales chart from Media Create was packed with new releases this week. The latest entry in Sega's Let's Make a Pro Soccer Club soccer simulation series grabbed the top spot, besting Atsumete! Kirby and manga adaptation Toriko Gourmet Survival. Also making it into the top ten were a couple of Wii releases, Family Fishing, a fishing game from Yuji Naka's Prope studio, and Epic Mickey, released in Japan by Nintendo. Lower in the top 20 were two medium profile PSP titles, Half-Minute Hero sequel Hero 30 Second and Elminage III.

The full Media Create top 20 covering August 1 through August 7 follows. Listed in parentheses are publisher, release date and life-to-date sales.

In hardware, 3DS fell down to around 4,000 units in the last week before its price drop. The system will see a 10,000 yen price cut when shops open today. With the first 3DS retail Pokemon game out today as well, we can probably expect the system to surge back into first place next week.
