Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky Reaches 200,000 Units Five Years After Release

Trails in the Sky shows off a Nintendo-ish sales pattern.

PSP's upcoming The Legend of Heroes Ao no Kiseki reached retail orders of 200,000 units even before its release. The series wasn't always such an instant success though.

The Legend of Heroes Sora no Kiseki FC, the first part of the trilogy that's known internationally as Trails in the Sky, was released for the PSP on October 28, 2006. The game's initial shipment was just 30,000 units.

Despite the slow start, Sora no Kiseki FC apparently kept on selling. The official Falcom Twitter revealed today that the game has finally crossed the 200,000 shipment mark. This feat comes just ahead of the game's five year anniversary.

It seems that Sora no Kiseki FC sold slowly and consistently. According to Falcom, orders for the game never once dropped below four digits.
