Namco Bandai Forms Joint Venture With DeNA
Newly established BDNA to focus on social games for smartphones.
Namco Bandai Games and social gaming giant DeNA announced today the formation of BDNA Inc., a joint venture that will focus on smartphone social games.
BDNA will have initial capitalization of 100 million yen, funded 75% by Namco Bandai Games and 25% by DeNA, and will be a subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings. Namco Bandai Games CEO Shin Unozawa will be CEO of the new firm. Board members from Namco Bandai's side include Hirotaka Reizei (Division Manager of Production Division) and Hideyuki Okabayashi (Assistant Manager of Production Department 4, Production Division). DeNA president Keigo Watanabe will also be on the board.
The new firm will open its doors on October 1, 2011.
