Partial Tokyo Game Show Game List Released

3DS shows lots of support in early stats from event.

Tokyo Game Show organizer CESA released today a partial list of games that will be on display at the September event.

At present, as of August 30, TGS is scheduled to have 77 organizations show 664 product. Of these, 477 product were announced today.

As always, the figures include items that may not meet your expectations for a video game trade show. Among the latest Square Enix and Sega titles are submissions from game development schools. The figures also include peripherals and goods (like Final Fantasy XIII pendants from Square Enix).

Looking just at video game product, the 477 announced titles include:

  • 11 DS product
  • 48 3DS product
  • 17 Xbox 360 product
  • 0 PlayStation 2 product
  • 22 PlayStation 3 product
  • 23 PlayStation Portable product
  • 7 PlayStation Vita product
  • 8 Wii product
  • 33 iPhone product
  • 33 Android product

These appear to include not just games, but peripherals and other items as well.

Split up by genre, the list includes:

  • 83 action games (down from 102 last year)
  • 16 adventure games (up from 12)
  • 16 simulation games (down from 25)
  • 22 shooting games (up from 19)
  • 9 sports games (up from 4)
  • 25 puzzle games (up from 18)
  • 6 racing games (down from 8)
  • 31 role playing games (up from 26)

Before you read too much into these numbers, we'll repeat that they are based off incomplete data. Regarding the PlayStation Vita, for example, Sony has yet to announce its lineup. Likewise for Microsoft and Xbox 360.

Japanese readers can see the currently announced product list in the images CESA distributed below.

Konami and Square Enix have already shared their lineups, so there are no surprises in their lists.

Acquire will be showing Class of Heroes Final on PSP and Gladiator Versus on PS3.

Arc System Works will be showing all three versions of BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend (PS3, X360, Vita) and the following unreleased 3DS titles:

  • Arc Style Solitaire
  • Okiraku Tennis 3D
  • Okiraku Bowling 3D
  • Otegaru Puzzle Series Alize to Mahou no Trump

Sega lists the following games:

  • Binary Domain (PS3/360)
  • Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure (3DS)
  • Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend (PSP)
  • Phantasy Star Online 2 (PC)
  • 7th Dragon 2020 (PSP)
  • Anarchy Reigns (PS3/360)
  • Sonic Generations (PS3/3DS)

Correction 22:40: A previous version of this story listed the announced platform numbers as "games" when they actually appear to be all related products, including games and peripherals.
