The first of two Kojima Productions stages at the Tokyo Game Show today had a few new details on upcoming Metal Gear product.
Regarding Metal Gear Solid 3D, the 3DS remake of PS2's Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, Hideo Kojima mentioned the previously announced "this winter" release time frame for the game. However, he clarified that this means early 2012 rather than later this year.
Regarding the HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Kojima revealed that the Xbox 360 version will include avatar items as a bonus. This is in place of the Metal Gear Solid Game Archives download code that PS3 owners get.
The rest of the stage had Kojima and voice actress Yumi Kikuchi discussing the history of the series and some of its major landmarks, including the legendary crowds that formed at E3 trailer showings, and some rare promotional footage, including an MGS2 commercial featuring Kojima himself.
Zone of Enders HD Edition was also brought up briefly. In addition to touching upon the information mentioned at yesterday's stage, including the inclusion of a new Sunrise produced intro running 3 to 4 minutes, Kojima said to expect a release between early to mid 2012. Summer 2012 will also see a Blu-ray box set of the ZOE anime which was broadcast from April 2001.
