Dragon Quest Collection Tops the Charts with over 250,000
3DS reclaims top hardware spot despite low showing in software chart.
Square Enix kicked off its Dragon Quest 25th anniversary festivities with a Wii collection of the first three Dragon Quest games (actually five titles, as the Super Famicom remakes are included as well). Fans responded by picking up 263,000 units, placing Dragon Quest Collection high atop the Media Create weekly sales charts.
Dragon Quest Collection pushed Tales of Xillia out of first place. Following a debut week of over 500,000 units, the PS3 Tales title saw a sharp drop to under 50,000.
Other titles debuting in the top 20 this week included Idea Factory's love sim Gekka Ryouran Romance for PSP, and 5pb.'s visual novel/adventure game Dunamis 15 for PS3. An Xbox 360 version of Dunami 15 was also released, but did not make it into the top 20.
Here's the full top 20 covering 9/12 to 9/18. In parentheses are publisher, release date and life to date sales.
