Winning Eleven Beats AKB1/48 Dating Sim For Top Sales Spot

AKB1/48 takes the girls of AKB48 to Guam.

The first AKB1/48 game sold 236,000 units in its first week last year, but could not beat the powerful Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for first place in the weekly sales charts.

First week sales rose just a bit for the game's sequel, but the popular forty-eight strong idol unit was once again denied the top spot. This time, they were beaten by PS3's Winning Eleven 2012, which sold 272,036 in its first week.

The numbers fall sharply from there, despite a number of new releases. Phantom Kingdom Portable managed just 7,350 units in its first week. PS3's God of War HD Collection sold just 5,727 in its first week.
