Namco Bandai Raises Earnings Expectations Due to Strong Tales of Xillia and AKB1/48 Sales
Namco Bandai issued a revised earnings forecast today, upping its sales forecast for the first six months of the year from 178,000 million yen to 194,000 million yen, and its operating income forecast from 6,500 million yen to 15,500 million yen. The previous forecasts were issued on August 2.
The company's contents business, which includes video games, accounts for most of the change, with sales forecasts increasing 14,700 million yen to 86,700 million yen. Sales expectations for the company's Toy and Hobby division are up 6,600 million yen to 81,600 million.
As reason for the increases, Namco Bandai cited strong performance from such games as Tales of Xillia and AKB1/48 If I Loved an Idol in Guam. It also said that the new Gundam TriAge series has been popular.
