Macross F, the latest in Namco Bandai's line of hybrid PS3 discs.

3DS continues to be the hottest platform in terms of hardware sales despite hardly making a dent in in the weekly software charts. Following the release of its Misty Pink color variation, the system saw a 20,000 unit boost to 73,933 units this week. Meanwhile, the highest placing 3DS software title only sold 7,133 units for the week.

Media Create's numbers for the week have Macross F Sayonara no Tsubasa as the top selling game, with 142,607 units sold. Like the first PS3 Macross F game, this one combines the Blu-ray release of a Macross F movie, in this case Sayonara no Tsubasa, with a PS3 game, all on one hybrid disc. This is the only way to get the Blu-ray version of the movie. When played back on a standard Blu-ray player, only the movie content is accessible.

Naruto Shippuuden Narutimate Impact, the latest PSP Naruto game, took second place with 53,148 units. It beat Namco Bandai's content-heavy Wii variety game Go Vacation, which placed third with 47,209 units.

Other newcomers making it into the top 10 were Dead Island on both PS3 and Xbox 360, and FIFA 12 on PS3. Just below FIFA 12 and its 25,640 unit debut was Winning Eleven, which has sold 356,724 units since its release on October 6.
