When Sega announced that the download version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend would be released on December 15, one month after the retail version, did you suspect that the release had been timed to coincide with PlayStation Vita's December 17 launch? Well, you were right!

During a Saturday retail demo event for Extend, producer Seiji Hayashi was asked why the download version's release was delayed beyond the retail version. He admitted that the date was meant to be close to the Vita's launch, with Sega's management anticipating that there would be greater chance that players would want a download version around that time. The wait has nothing to do with development difficulties, he assured.
