Spike and Chunsoft will be merging, retailer blog Sinobi reports today. Sinobi did not list a source, but the site usually gets this type of information from early copies of Weekly Famitsu.
According to Sinobi, the new company will open its doors on April 1, 2012 under the name Spike Chunsoft.
Chunsoft, known for such games as 428, 999 and other digital novel/adventure games, has recently restarted its own publishing business. Previously, it served as developer on titles published by companies like Sega and Spike. Further back, the company was one of the early Dragon Quest series developers.
Both Spike and Chunsoft are subsidiaries of Dwango.
