Game Boy Advance 3DS Ambassador Program Begins on Friday

Metroid, Fire Emblem, Mario Kart, Zelda and more!

Nintendo has finally shared details on the Game Boy Advance part of the Ambassador Program, a collection of free Virtual Console downloads Nintendo is giving to early 3DS adopters to make up for the system's quick price drop.

Ten Game Boy Advance games will be available for free download on the 16th. Here's the list:

  • F-Zero for Game Boy Advance (aka, Maximum Velocity)
  • Super Mario Advance 3
  • Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • Fire Emblem Seima no Kouseki
  • Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
  • Mario Kart Advance
  • Mario vs Donkey Kong
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Wario Land Advance
  • Made in Wario

The first phase of the Ambassador program consisted of ten Famicom/NES games. These were released on September 1. Here's the list in case you missed it:

  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Balloon Fight
  • Ice Climber
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Wrecking Crew
  • Mario Open Golf
  • Yoshi's Egg
  • Metroid
  • Zelda: Adventures of Link

Notice about the Game Boy Advance lineup was sent out today directly to 3DS users. The list is only for the Japanese market. There may be variations depending on region, so 3DS owners in other territories should wait for official notice before planning out their retro gaming schedule.
