3DS, Elder Scrolls Dominate Weekly Software Charts

 
Nintendo recently started giving Wii a year-end push, highlighting the system's appeal for gatherings.

With its triple punch of Monster Hunter 3, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land now out, 3DS dominated Media Create's latest weekly software chart. But The Elder Scrolls V, recipient of a perfect score in Weekly Famitsu, also managed respectable sales on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

We already shared Enterbrain's sales figures for Monster Hunter 3G. Media Create reported a slightly higher first week total of 521,959 units.

Mario Kart 7 took second in its second week of release, selling an additional 183,834 units to bring its two week total to 607,453 units. Super Mario 3D Land placed third with 89,743 units. Now entering its second month of sales, the game has reached a life to date total of 724,611 units.

The PS3 version of Elder Scrolls V followed in fourth with 75,865 units in its first week. The Xbox 360 version was a bit lower, at ninth with 37,037 units.

3DS was the dominant hardware for the week, outselling all other systems combined two fold with 350,321 units. PSP, Wii and PS3 did see smaller spikes, likely the start of a year-end sales boost for each system.
