Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has a badass tan and a badass cat. Here's his badass truck.
Gamer.jp captured this image of the official truck for Nagoshi's Yakuza Studio. The truck sports the studio logo on the outside. On the inside is a demo station.
Just so there's no misunderstanding, the Yakuza studio's actual name is, like the Japanese name for the Yakuza series, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio. There aren't any trucks sporting the word "yakuza" running around Japan.
Sega and Nagoshi are taking the truck on a tour of Japan. Starting tomorrow (1/14), the tour will kick off at Yamada Denki Labi 1 in Ikebukuro, then travel to various locations from Hokkaido to Fukuoka. Nagoshi will attend for signings and talk sessions.
Visitors will be able to sample Yakuza Black Panther 2 and Binary Domain ahead of their release. The Binary Domain demo is all new, featuring stages in Shibuya and Shinjuku. The Black Panther 2 demo includes a story sequence set in the new Osaka area, and a battle sequence showing off the new battle elements.
Speaking at an early press showing for the truck outside Sega's Haneda main office yesterday, Nagoshi recalled that when he appeared at a signing event for the first Yakuza game, only five people showed up. The numbers increased, reaching over 100, but those same five people who attended the original signing still show up.
Nagoshi also confirmed that the recent "Mr. Assault" videos were not part of a new game tease. He apologized for the confusion. We'll get further details on what Mr. Assault is all about later today (1/13).
Correction: A previous version of this story mistakenly wrote "Nagoshi has a badass tattoo" instead of "Nagoshi has a badass tan."
