Armored Core, Resident Evil Top the Charts

PlayStation Vita makes it back into the top 20 with Tales of Innocence.

Resident Evil Revelations sells nearly 150,000 units in its first week.

Following a slow start for 2012, the last week of January was flooded with new releases, and this showed in Media Create's weekly software sales chart, where the holiday hits made room for newcomers.

Armored Core V topped the charts, the PlayStation 3 version alone selling 164,000 units. The 360 version also made it into the top 10 with 25,000 units.

Resident Evil Revelations debuted on 3DS with 147,000 units. In contrast, Resident Evil Mercenaries, released in June of last year, sold just 58,792 units in its first week (this was good enough for first place, though).

PlayStation Vita at last made its way back into the top 20. Tales of Innocence R, the remake of a DS Tales game, sold 55,000 in its first week. Namco Bandai has hinted that it will be doing more remakes of past Tales games.

Here's the full software top 20 for January 23 through January 29, as posted at 4Gamer today. Publisher, release date and life-to-date sales are in parentheses.
