Ono: No Comment on Download Characters for PS3/360 Street Fighter x Tekken
Following Capcom's announcement earlier today that the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken would arrive in the Fall with 12 new characters, the general assumption was that the PS3 and 360 versions, which arrive on March 8, would have those characters added as download content. Series producer Yoshinori Ono has made some comments on the issue at Twitter -- or some no comments, rather.
A follower asked if the characters that are being added for the Vita version will be added to the PS3 and Xbox 360 version as download content. Ono responded that he can at present say only what was announced earlier in the day. He asked that we wait for a followup report.
Ono made a preemptive strike against concerns that Capcom would add the new characters to the PS3 and 360 versions via a separate "Complete Version" disc release. He assured that it is the policy of the Street Fighter series to make sure that if an update is offered, the original disc version does not go to waste. In the event that they offer an Append version, it will be offered as upgrade download content, similar to how SFIV was brought up to SFIV Arcade Edition spec.
On the topic of download characters in general, Ono said that he has nothing to say at present. For the future, he would like to consider many opinions.
