Sony Computer Entertainment announced today that PlayStation Vita has, as of February 26, crossed the 1.2 million mark in worldwide sales. The figure includes sales in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe.

While Sony's sales figures are usually shipment figures -- that is, sales from Sony to retailers -- these figures appear to be actual sales to consumers. The figure is based off internal Sony data.

Sony also said that PlayStation Vita software sales have crossed the 2 million mark. This includes retail and download sales. Sony did not provide a breakdown.

PlayStation Vita currently has over 70 titles in development both from Sony itself and from third parties, Sony also said.
