Lollipop Chainsaw Dated for June 14
Different Juliet voices for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Dengeki PlayStation has a final date for Lollipop Chainsaw this week. Grasshopper Manufacture's tale of chainsaws and the high school cheerleader who wields them will be released to Japan on June 14.
This date matches closely with the June 12 and June 15 dates that were announced for North America and Europe earlier in the day. The Japanese release is through Kadokawa Games. Warner Bros. Interactive is releasing the game internationally.
We previously detailed the various versions Kadokawa will be releasing for Japanese audiences. The game's standard version will have different packaging on PS3 and Xbox 360. Joining this, Kadokawa will release a "Zaku Zaku" version which has the option for full violence and the choice of Japanese or English voices.
There's one additional difference to take into account when deciding which version to buy. Dengeki reveals that that the Japanese voice of main character differs between the 360 and PS3 versions. The PS3 version's Juliet is voiced by Yoko Hikasa. The Xbox 360 version's Juliet will be voiced by Eri Kitamura.
UPDATE: Sokuho's summary of Dengeki's report says that you'll be able to unlock the other version of the Juliet character. This appears to be a real unlockable, and not download content.
Outside of the date and voice actor information, Dengeki has a full preview of the game showing a stage that looks like a throwback to 8-bit games. We'll hopefully get an official online look later in the week.
