Kid Icarus Battles Yakuza Black Panther 2 For Top Sales Spot

Nintendo bundled a stand with all copies of Kid Icarus Uprising.

PSP and 3DS battled for the top of the Media Create sales chart this week, and 3DS came out on top with the revival of a classic franchise. Kid Icarus Uprising was the top selling game for the week, its 132,526 units beating PSP's Black Panther 2, which sold 104,937 units in its first week.

We don't have comparative data for the original Kid Icarus. Black Panther 2 is off to a slower start than its predecessor. The original sold 174,213 units in its first week in September 2010. (See the full sales chart here.)

This week's chart was packed with new releases. Devil May Cry HD placed fourth on PS3, beating Ninja Gaiden 3's PS3 version. The Xbox 360 versions of both titles failed to make it into the top 20.

Also making it into the top 20 in their first week were Mugen Souls (PS3), Hakuouki Bakumatsu Musouroku (PSP), Fairy Tail Zelef Kakusei (PSP), Hanaoni Yume no Tsuzuki (PSP), Do Love My Truly! R (PS3) and PlayStation Vita's first love-adventure game, Little Busters! Converted Edition.
