Next Hatsune Miku Detailed

Vita version goes playable later this month!

The makers of the arcade Miku game (shown above) are working on the new PS3 and Vita title.

Sega is bringing Hatsune Miku to the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. Sinobi, which has early access to Weekly Famitsu, has first details from the magazine.

Currently operating under the placeholder name of Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva, the new game will retain the basic gameplay systems from the previous Miku games. However, there will be some new elements, including touch controls (apparently referred to as "scratch") and a new technical element where you receive bonuses by connecting combos in a specified time limit. The game will have four difficulty settings.

Vocaloids shown in Famitsu include Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, Kaito and Meiko. Songs include World's End Dance Hall (wowaka), Pieretta (nezuki) and Cat Food (Doriko). Modules (these are sort of like costumes) include Hatsune Miku Emerald and Megurine Luka Ruby.

The game is being developed by the staff that worked on the PSP and arcade Hatsune Miku games. A release is planned for Vita this summer and PS3 in 2013. Sinobi's report isn't clear on if the two games will have any differences.

We should be getting lots of details shortly. Sega will open an official site for the game tomorrow. The Vita version will be going playable at Nico Nico's "Chokaigi" event on the 28th and 29th at Makuhari Messe. Details on the playable showing will be posted at this special PlayStation.com site that opens tomorrow.
