PSP Super Robot Wars Tops the Charts; Vita Drops to Four Digits

The latest PSP Super Robot Wars game made its expected debut at the top of the Media Create charts this week. 2nd Super Robot Wars Z Saisei Volume sold 265,439 units in its first week. This was just a bit lower than the first 2nd Super Robot Wars Z game, which sold 307,019 units in its first week in April of last year. (See this story for that week's sales chart).

The rest of the chart was mostly older releases. Kingdom Hearts took second place following its first place debut last week, selling an additional 42,231 units to take it over the quarter million mark. The PSP and PS3 versions of Pro Baseball Spirits remained in the top 20 while the Vita version dropped out.

Other newcomers this week include Kinect Star Wars, which debuted with 6,010 units, and the PS3 version of Mahjong Dream Club, which sold 5,701 units. The Kinect Star Wars figure includes the game's Xbox 360 hardware bundle. For Mahjong Dream Club, the Xbox 360 version was released last week.

Here's the full software chart covering April 2 through April 8. Life to date sales are in parentheses.

All systems saw drops from the previous week, specially the 3DS, which lost some of its Kingdom Hearts 3D boost. Xbox 360 did manage three times last week's total, presumably due to the Star Wars bundle.

Here's the full hardware chart for the same week. The previous week's sales are in parentheses.
