Famitsu.com has first pics of Phantom Breaker Battle Ground, an Xbox Live Arcade title that its print counterpart revealed earlier in the week.

Battle Ground is a new take on 5pb.'s Xbox 360 2D fighting game Phantom Breaker. The characters have been changed to chibi form, and the genre has switched to side scrolling action, with a multiplain system ala such classics as Guardian Heroes.

The game can be played by up to four players simultaneously, both in coop and competitive play. Competitive play includes a battle royal mode.

Phantom Breaker Battle Ground will be released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2013.
