Microsoft will be absent from this year's Tokyo Game Show. The company said today that it will not be attending the September event. It will also skip out on Germany's Gamescom event in August.

In a statement sent to the press, the company assured Japanese customers, partners, distributors and media that they still plan on holding other forms of promotional activity for Xbox 360.
