New Idolmaster Announced for PSP

Honey Sound, Funky Note and Groovy Tune to each feature different idol set.

After months and months of Gravure For You hybrid discs on PS3, we finally get a real Idolmaster game!

The PSP hits keep on coming! The latest series to stick with Sony's first generation portable is Namco Bandai's virtual idol simulation series Idolmaster.

Famitsu has a first look this week at Idolmaster Shiny Festa. According to Tales Source, which gets the magazine in advance, Shiny Festa will be released as three version, Honey Sound, Funky Note and Groovy Tune. Each version has a different set of idols:

  • Honey Sound: Chihaya Kisaragi, Haruka Amami, Ritsuko Akizuki and Azusa Miura
  • Funky Note: Yayoi Takatsuki, Hibiki Ganaha, Iori Minase, Ami & Mami Futami
  • Groovy Tune: Miki Hoshii, Yukiho Hagiwara, Makoto Kikuchi Takane Shijou

Different from the simulation nature of other Idolmaster games, Shiny Festa is a rhythm action game. Sinobi, another Famitsu flying get source, reports that the game looks like a simple version of Square Enix's 3DS Final Fantasy rhythm game Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Each of the three versions will have different songs.

The game's date and price are listed in Famitsu as TBA. The main theme song is titled "Music."
