First Look: Idolmaster Shiny Festa
The new PSP Idolmaster game is a video-heavy rhythm action game.
At first glance, it may be hard to believe that these screens of Idolmaster Shiny Festa, which debuted today at Famitsu.com, are from a PSP game.
The reason the image quality is so high is because backgrounds are videos.
The new PSP Idolmaster game is a rhythm action game set in a tournament on a southern island. You'll lead your idol unit in a simple rhythm game where you simply press buttons when blue and pink icons pass over the yellow icon in the middle of the screen. As you play, you'll see movie footage streaming in the background.
In addition to live stage performances, referred to as "Live Style," the game's rhythm sequences also include "Anime Style," which pull clips from the Idolmaster anime, "Drama Style," which show dramatic sequences, and Band Style, which show the girls performing as a band (as opposed to the dancing and singing in the Live Style).
Shiny Festa will be released as three different SKUs, each featuring different idols and songs:
- Honey Sound: Chihaya Kisaragi, Haruka Amami, Ritsuko Akizuki and Azusa Miura
- Funky Note: Yayoi Takatsuki, Hibiki Ganaha, Iori Minase, Ami & Mami Futami
- Groovy Tune: Miki Hoshii, Yukiho Hagiwara, Makoto Kikuchi Takane Shijou
The game's date is currently TBA.
