Pokemon, Square Enix Dominated Software Sales in June
Sony boosted by Tokyo Jungle, Atlus boosted by Persona Vita.
Thanks in large part (or maybe "all part" is correct) to Pokemon Black & White 2, Pokemon Company was the top software revenue shareholder for June.
According to stats from Enterbrain, Pokemon Co. had 34.5% of software revenue share for the period covering May 28 through June 24. This is the first time the Pokemon publisher has been at the top of the monthly revenue chart since September 2010.
Square Enix came in second thanks to the 740,000 units from Dragon Quest Monsters Terry's Wonderland 3D. Nintendo came in third despite having no new releases over the month.
Some publishers saw dramatic leaps over the prior month. Atlus rose up to fifth place from the prior month's twelfth place thanks to Persona 4 The Golden, the third best selling game for the month. Tokyo Jungle's fifth place finish drove Sony Computer Entertainment from eleventh place to seventh place. Lollipop Chainsaw helped Kadokawa Games rise from a low 26th place to eighth place.
