Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney Development at Climax
Shuu Takumi is placing his full focus on the crossover project.
Level-5 and Capcom's long quiet crossover between Professor Layton and Ace Attorney made it back into the headlines today through some comments from Ace Attorney creator Shuu Takumi.
As part of a Famitsu.com dialogue between Takumi and Ace Attorney movie director Takashi Miike, Takumi said "Production on Layton vs Ace Attorney is at its climax. It's like my entire life is focused on it. While I still can't say much, it's progressing well, so please wait a bit more."
Takumi contrasted his work on Layton vs Ace Attorney with his less hands-on role on the Ace Attorney movie, saying "While [Latyon vs Ace Attorney] is being developed jointly with Level-5, games are my job, so I can't just leave it to someone else like with the movie."
Takumi and Miike also discussed the possibility of a sequel to the Ace Attorney movie. Miike said that if it were up to him, he wouldn't just want to convert Ace Attorney 2 into a movie. Instead, he may want to use film to show sides of the story that aren't shown in the games.
