Kinect, Journey, Idolmaster and Puzzle & Dragons Honored at CEDEC Awards

 

CESA held its annual CEDEC Awards ceremony at the CEDEC developers conference yesterday. The CEDEC awards recognize top developers in five categories.

This year's programming award went to the development team at Microsoft responsible for Kinect for Windows/Xbox 360 Kinect. CESA said that the team created a revolutionary open technology that spurred new game design.

This year's visual arts award went to thatgamecompany for Journey.

The game design award went to the Puzzle & Dragons development team at Gung Ho Entertainment.

The sound award went to the Idolmaster series music team at Namco Bandai.

The network award went to the enchant.js development team at Ubiquitous Entertainment. Enchant.js is a open Javascript-based game engine.

CESA also gave a special award to Enterbrain CEO Hirokazu Hamamura and an honorary award to Marc Salvati, Tatsuo Yotsukura and Yosuke Sora, writers of a book called Technical Artist Kit.
