Metal Gear Jacks Roppongi
Plus, find out how you can take part in the anniversary fun on Thursday!
We reported on this earlier via some advance Tweets from Kojima Productions staffers, but Konami has now made official announcement of some of the preparations it's making for Metal Gear's big 25th anniversary event this week.
Tokyo Midtown, the Roppongi-based business and commerce facility that Konami calls home, has been jacked by Metal Gear, with signs appearing on the facility's first basement floor and in the connecting Oedo Roppongi Station. The Midtown basement has 22 Metal Gear themed posters on its columns and walls. The Oedo Roppongi Station escalator walls have signs based around classic Metal Gear series packaging. All Metal Gear materials will be in place through September 2.
The Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Party will be held at Konami's office in Midtown on the 30th from 14:00 to 18:00. The drawing for general public admission ended earlier this month, so if you don't have an invite you will not be able to attend.
You can take part in some of the festivities on the day of the party, though. Konami will host a "Real Camouflage Event" from 11:30 to 18:00. Participants will need to search a specified area around Midtown for "real camouflage artists." Take a pic of one of the artists and show it to the staff of the Midtown Konami Style shop, and you'll receive an original Metal Gear sticker. You'll also be entered into a drawing for one of 100 Metal Gear 25th Anniversary original t-shirts.
