This Week on Virtual Console

Final Fantasy joined by an arcade classic.

Final Fantasy was the last game remaining in Nintendo's May Virtual Console lineup, pretty much guaranteeing a release for the RPG classic on Tuesday.

But it won't be alone. Joining it is another Namco Bandai arcade classic, Splatterhouse. The 1988 arcade classic puts players in the role of Rick in a side scrolling horror action game where they're tasked with saving kidnapped girlfriend Jennifer from a mansion.

This is the third Splatterhouse game to see release for the Virtual Console. The PC Engine version of the original was released on July 3, 2007. The Mega Drive version of the sequel was released on July 1, 2008.

Final Fantasy carries the standard VC Famicom price of 500 WiiPoints. That's right, no Square Enix tax! Splatterhouse carries the standard 800 WiiPoint arcade price tag.

If you're wondering what's next for the service, be sure and check back on Friday. Nintendo shares its lineup for the coming month on the last Friday of the previous month.
