Ubisoft Announces Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell Conviction for Japan

These were both previously announced for Japan in a recent Famitsu, but Ubisoft today made a more formal announcement of domestic releases for two of its biggest titles of the year, Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell. Both are due out in Japan later this year.

Assassin's Creed II is the sequel to the 2007 PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title that sold eight million copies worldwide. The game moves the setting to 15th century Italy. A domestic release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is set for Winter.

Splinter Cell Conviction is the latest entry in the popular Tom Clancy Splinter Cell series, putting players once again in control of main character Sam Fischer. This one will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 some time this year.
