Were you disappointed when Sony's last Hot Shots (aka "Minna no" series) game announcement resulted in the mini game collection Minna no Sukkiri? Well you'll be glad to know that an actual Hot Shots sports game is on the way as well. Sony shared screens and details today on Minna no Tennis Portable. The PSP title was announced overseas earlier this year as Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip.
Minna no Tennis Portable is described by Sony as a "successor" to the 2006's PlayStation 2 Minna no Tennis. It's definitely not just a port, with new characters and over 300 costumes promising a large array of customization possibilities. Of the characters, Sony has introduced just Emmy and Banh. Additional characters will be announced leading up to release.
As one might expect of a PSP game, Minna no Tennis Portable will feature ad-hoc play. Up to four players can play, with support for singles and doubles matches.
The screenshots released today show the expected selection of tennis shots and costume change screens, but there are also a few shots showing the characters running around off the court. We'll have to wait for an update from Sony for the specifics on this side of the game.
